Acting and Musical Theater

ACTING CLASS

Tuesday    9 - 12 yr olds 6:30 - 7:45 Action I
Thursday 13 - 18 yr olds 6:45 - 8:00 Acting II

Students will get the chance to experience different character work, vocal exploration, and lots of improvisational exercises. Each class will begin with an exciting energy and/or vocal warm-up. Students will also get the opportunity to work with some text; both monologues and scene work. The goal for this class is for each student to grab an opportunity to "color outside of the lines". This is the chance for all of us to let imagination and reality come together. We'll explore characters we never thought we could be, and play in situations we never thought we'd find ourselves in. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! All characters welcome.

Amy Sonntag -

Amy Sonntag is excited to be back to where she learned it all! Since leaving Stageworkz many moons ago, Amy has received her BM in Music Theatre from the Catholic University, performed at Disney World, and performed all over the world with Feld Entertainment's Disney Live. After three years of performing with Disney Live, Amy went on to become a Performance Director for the company. Touring is great, but Amy missed having a 'normal life' and is thrilled to be back in the area. Since returning last year she has performed with Toby's Dinner Theatre, taught with Columbia Center for Theatrical Arts, and begun prerequisites to apply for her Masters. She loves sharing her love of dance and music theatre with kids - especially at Talent Machine and Stageworks where she learned everything she knows! Catch the Energy!
